Hello there, I’m Heather Moulder

I help lawyers succeed in both life and law.

[At the same time].

“Everyone needs a Heather in their lives!”

You’re smart, savvy and driven to succeed.

And you want to make a difference.  The only problem is. . .

You feel as if you’re stuck on a treadmill that’s at the highest speed possible.

The demand to fill a million different roles law school didn’t prepare you for (business advisor, manager, marketer, etc.) feels overwhelming.

Your mind is often racing, unable to turn work off (and you worry about burnout).

Although you’ve achieved plenty of paper success, you question whether you’re making enough of an impact.

You wonder whether you’re doing all the right things (and no longer see a clear path forward).

Feeling trapped by your own success isn’t a great feeling.

[I’ve been there too, and it pretty much sucks].

»» Laying awake at night, thinking about everything that needs to get done (and second-guessing decisions).

»» Juggling so many balls that I worried about which ones would be dropped (yet still couldn’t say “no”).

»» Resentful about putting everyone else’s needs before my own.

»» Feeling guilt about how unhappy I was with my ‘success’ (and embarrassed about how lost I felt).

»» Taking all my stress and anxiety out on those I loved most (all that snapping at my husband wasn’t exactly doing good things for my marriage).

Yet I did what most lawyers do. . . I worked harder to do more (and hoped that someday things would change).

[I think I was waiting for a ray of sunshine to stream down from heaven, with God’s booming (James Earl Jones-like) voice to tell me what to do].

And then what I feared was bound to happen DID.

I forgot an important deadline and missed something (I should have caught) in a contract review.  Oh, and had (yet another) fight with my husband about work.  All on the same day.

That’s when I knew that I could no longer accept my stress and anxiety as just part of the job.

It was time to take control.

Taking control means reorienting your career + life around your values and strengths (and letting go of everything else). So that you can keep things super simple and trust your intuition.

And confidently build the career you want.

Heather is perfect for any attorney wanting to get to the next level without losing yourself in the process.

She challenged me to see situations (and my own actions) for what they really were so that I could work to improve myself and achieve my goals. Working with her is like working with a trusted advisor and friend who always has your best interests in mind.

I achieved even more while doing much less.

A funny thing happened when I started building the career I really wanted. . .

I had more success.

[Turns out that hustling to do it all while mirroring the tactics of colleagues (who aren’t very happy themselves) isn’t the best recipe for long-term success or happiness. . . Who knew?]

Within a few short years, I was balancing a highly profitable + fulfilling practice with a real life.  And I did this while navigating 2 pregnancies (and 2 bed rests!), the 2008 financial crisis (as a corporate finance attorney) and a battle with breast cancer.

After 18+ years as a lawyer and building my practice from scratch here’s what I know:

1. You are MORE THAN just a lawyer.

Yes, you chose this profession for a reason. That’s important. But it’s not all you are.

The good news is that when you tap back into the things that make you uniquely you (e.g., your strengths + values), you can leverage them within your career + practice. That makes things much simpler, easier and way more fun.

And it also makes you a better communicator, leader and lawyer.

Win – Win – Win.

2. You MUST put yourself first if you want to be your best.

I know that you’ve been programmed to believe you’ve got to put your clients above everything else, including. . . YOU.

It’s a lie (that’s killing us). There’s a reason lawyers are more stressed, anxious, depressed and suicidal than other professions (we’re 3.6 times more likely to suffer from depression).

Besides, it’s not an either/or proposition (either take care of yourself OR provide great client service).

When you prioritize your wellbeing, you won’t just FEEL better.  You’ll BE better (for your family, friends, colleagues, team, clients, firm/company, EVERYONE).

Yet another win – win.

How to best describe Heather? Perceptive. No-nonsense. Compassionate. She’ll reenergize you personally and professionally.

I came to Heather feeling stressed and overwhelmed from trying to juggle my current workload with the pressure to build more business. Heather helped me uncover my stress triggers and gave me the tools to take control of my emotions so that I could let go of the (mostly self-imposed) pressure I felt and grow my business with more ease.

How to create success from the inside-out.

The formula is simple:

  • Rewire your brain for graceful resilience.
  • Reconnect to your values + strengths.
  • Realign your life around your priorities.

So that you can. . .

Do Less. Achieve (and BE) More.  Make Life & Law Fun Again.

What you need is a good roadmap to help get you there with the right support.  And that’s why I’ve got a welcome gift to help you get started that has the EXACT steps you need to take.

Reclaim your time, reignite your confidence and create real balance without settling for less. From a lawyer who’s been there.

I’m a better lawyer while putting in less hours.

When I first started working with Heather I was unfocused and felt ineffective (as a lawyer, wife and mom). Heather helped me clarify my priorities and realign my life around them so that I’m finally able to fit the pieces of my life together cohesively.

If you’re one who agonizes over decisions, Heather will put you on a fast-track out of that mindset.

Cancer changed everything.

I was only 38 (with 2 young kids at home – ages 2 and 6). It was aggressive and the prognosis wasn’t good. Thankfully, I made it through.

This experience changed me.  It’s what led me to start my new business.  And it taught me how to LIVE. . . Fully and without regrets.

Was I worried (even scared)? Yep.  But after what I’d been through there was no way I was going to let fear stop me.

As my boys grow older I want them to know that they have the power to create their own happiness.  And I want that for you too.

Does that mean that things will always go as planned? Nope.

But that’s okay because you’ll be LIVING FULL-OUT.

You already have what it takes – you’re driven and committed to succeeding.  All you need is the right  guidance to help you create success from the inside-out.

Mom of 2 high-energy (only slightly) mischievous boys

Although they’re a BLAST, it’s a myth that boys aren’t emotional.

As a kid, I dreamed of Broadway. But I wasn’t that good, so chose law instead. 😉

I believe Tex-Mex is an essential food group. After all, I AM a Texan, y’all!

Hubby is a semi-stoic

He’s the most composed, never-get-flustered (or emotional) person you’ll ever meet.  No matter what’s going on.

I'm not very woo (okay, not at all woo)

You won’t attract (or manifest your way into) the perfect life.  Instead, I use a simple (and proven) success framework + science-backed strategies that empower my clients to make long-term changes for the better.

I believe Mindset is your foundation (but not everything)

Yes, mindset is important to success and happiness. But if you want to succeed (in BOTH life and law), you also need a simple strategy that you can be consistent with.

That’s why I work on 3 things with my clients:

  • mindset/thought work that increases resilience and decreases stress,
  • clarifying how to leverage your values + strengths (for a simple strategy + plan that’s easy and fun to implement), and
  • doing what’s needed to take consistent action (such as building strong boundaries and learning to properly prioritize).
